Video Reflection:
This video is meant to serve as the introduction video to the course. It sets the stage and the purpose for taking this course. Because it is the introduction, it doesn't necessarily align to a CLO, but the video states all the CLOs for the course to align with adult learning principles.
The video includes closed captions and a transcript is also available. I found it difficult to check the color contrast on a video and am looking for a tool that can do that for me.
I have a Synthesia license and used it to generate this video. Synthesia is a powerful video creation tool that uses AI voices and avatars. It can also use AI to generate content, but I chose to write my own script for this video. The closed captioning process in Synthesia is extremely easy because it is auto-generated when the video is produced. In the future, I might not use Synthesia's CC's however because once posted to YouTube, the CC's cannot be turned off. If I let YouTube generate the CC's, then the user has more flexibility.
Synthesia is relatively easy to use and has easy access to images, music, and videos. The Synthesia license covers the fair use of these resources. I feel like I am just scratching the surface with the features of Synthesia so I would not choose a different resource in the future but rather, I would choose a different template style to experiment with to maximize learner engagement.
