Bahumukhi Research in Integrated Circuits and Systems Laboratory

The BRICS Lab stands for Bahumukhi Research in Integrated Circuits and Systems Laboratory. The BRICS Lab is proposed and set up by Dr. Biswajit R. Bhowmik, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE, NIT Karnataka. Hence, it is often referred to as Dr. BRB's Lab too. The Lab was set up in 2020 while the world was fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary objectives of setting up this Lab are versatile and diverse and focus on significant contributions via research in cutting-edge technologies.

The BRICS Lab is an umbrella of multiple Labs or Units. The journey of the BRICS Lab has started with two units: Artificial Intelligence Technology (AIT) and Network-on-Chip (NoC) Labs by a small research group for a small token of gifts in COVID-19 Detection. Currently, the BRICS Lab, in addition to AIT and NoC units, is expanded to another four units: Circuits and Systems (CAS), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Quantum Computing (QC) Labs with a more extensive research group. The group is now engaged in both disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research associated with these six Lab units.
