(One can believe a donkey but not a Kammallan) Kammallan is a gold smith community. This proverb is used by non- Kammalan community in order to express that one should not believe Kammalan when we make or buy gold ornaments.

(Goldsmith will take a bit of gold even while making ornaments for his mother)Aasari refers to a goldsmith. This proverb is used by non- Aasari people to state that Aasari are not trust worthy when we buy gold because he can even take a bit of gold while making ornament for his own mother.
