Kaluthaia nambinalum Kammallana nambakoodathu

(One can believe a donkey but not a Kammallan) Kammallan is a gold smith community. This proverb is used by non- Kammalan community in order to express that one should not believe Kammalan when we make or buy gold ornaments.

தாய் பொண்ணுலேயும் மாப்பொண்ணு எடுப்பான் ஆசாரி

Thaap ponnuleyum maapponnu edupan aasari

(Goldsmith will take a bit of gold even while making ornaments for his mother)Aasari refers to a goldsmith. This proverb is used by non- Aasari people to state that Aasari are not trust worthy when we buy gold because he can even take a bit of gold while making ornament for his own mother.
