Content warning for post-partum psychosis, child abuse, neglect, alcoholism, animal death, self harm, torture, and death.
Joseph was born to two parents who desperately wanted a little girl but failed to conceive another child after he was born due to complications. His father was a controlling alcoholic who claimed to be religious but often twisted beliefs to fit his agenda and kept his family isolated and submissive to him. His mother was a housewife who developed postpartum psychosis which later evolved into schizophrenia due to the trauma surrounding his delivery. Joseph’s mother never received treatment due to his father’s control. Instead, he found it easier to go along with her delusion that her son actually was a little girl and followed her in treating him as such.
Despite their constant efforts to condition him to act like a perfect daughter, Joseph pushed their efforts away at every turn, only occasionally finding interest in what was offered to him. His interests would be rewarded to the point of smothering him and causing him to eventually resent the interest until he loathed it and rejected it entirely, which in turn would result in him being severely punished for failing to comply. This cycle of smothering and battering would repeat over and over again, leading Joseph to become very detached and avoidant of attention. At one point, he tried to find joy connecting with other children but was ultimately steered away from them with a stern hand in an attempt to keep him isolated and under the control of his parents. This led to him being avoidant of any personal relationships at all. Even still, he continued to resist the constant attempts to brainwash him by his parents and stubbornly fought back against their wills fervently, often mirroring their violence to defend himself.
His continued rebellion eventually led to a psychotic episode in which mother attempted to kill him. Panicked and afraid, Joseph defended himself with a knife and ended up killing his mother in self defense. Rather than feel any guilt or remorse, Joseph felt vindicated and tried to turn on his father as well but was ambushed by the man and beaten into unconsciousness. His father, angry and resentful, resolved that Joseph was a failure as a child and, with his mother no longer in the picture, targeted all of his aggression on him and him alone.
The darkest period of Joseph’s life came from his years spent in his childhood home’s basement. His father kept him locked inside at all hours of the day. He was withdrawn from public school to be homeschooled but was never properly educated beyond what few books his father purchased to keep up appearances. On his own, Joseph managed to teach himself very rudimentary skills, including basic mathematics and science, and grew a hunger for knowledge which he could not obtain. What he enjoyed most during his isolation however, was art. For hours, he would keep himself distracted with imaginings and fantasies of killing his father and escaping, amongst other, more mild thoughts and ideas. Given how he lived in darkness without any stimulation for around six years, this proved to be one of his only escapes and fostered in him a dark and disturbing fascination with morbidity and death. All throughout, the beatings continued routinely and his situation only got worse as time went on. He struggled to stay healthy, only able to occasionally sneak out for food and scavenging whatever trash scraps his father had leftover from his half-made meals for himself. He frequently fell ill and suffered from infections from his wounds but received no care from his guardian. He was often unjustly punished for arbitrary things. Anything Joseph showed attachment to was destroyed, including toys, artwork, and his pet cat. He was restrained for hours at a time and was constantly reminded that he was the reason for his mother’s death.
The nail in the coffin for him was when his father took their large dog down with him to the basement one day and allowed it to viciously maul Joseph. The attack left him with a concussion, visual impairment, and scarring across the right side of his face. That very same night, he saw the opportunity to flee the home and did so. He was picked up by authorities after concerned passerby saw him wandering alone along the side of the road covered in blood and bandaging and reported him. He was examined by medical professionals but would not speak, and so he was deemed an orphan and entered into foster care.
While a ward of the state, he was assigned to a therapist whom he communicated with via drawings and re-enrolled into school. In both ways, he showed little progress. Joseph struggled to keep up in his classes. He would act out, yelling, becoming hostile, and displaying disorganized and nonsensical behaviors. He was examined once again after he was found covered in blood in the school bathroom from self-inflicted injuries. He claimed they work the work of bullies and from this, he began learning how to manipulate people by lying. His therapist managed to decipher some of his ramblings and analyzed his symptoms, from which he was diagnosed with several disorders and prescribed medications. From here, his therapist noted that he began to calm down and talk in a more normal, balanced manner. When he did, he came off as a witty, charming, friendly, and charismatic young man. She believed he was showing real progress and moving past his ordeal. Little did she know that this was yet another of his manipulative tactics he was learning to master. A physical examination found he was suffering from neuropathy and would often experience numbness or loss of control/coordination of his left side. His right eye had difficulty adjusting to light and he struggled to see out of it. Even though he was moved to less intensive classes, Joseph still found himself on a decline. Just a few short weeks before his high school graduation, he dropped out of school entirely and was released from foster care.
Now homeless and struggling to get by and take care of himself, he turned to art once again to try and make a living off of it. He’d always enjoyed art during his therapy sessions and recreationally, using it as a form of communication and self expression, and figured he could get more out of life by following his passion for it. However, lacking support and proper medication, Joseph’s disorders rapidly ramped up to dangerous levels and led to him killing someone after they insulted and damaged one of his pieces before fleeing. After several weeks of investigation, he was arrested but released due to a filing error. During his temporary stint, he learned of the Deep Web and its many illicit trades and took a profound interest in venturing into said trades for profit. He relocated to a nearby remote abandoned bunker facility and began gathering materials by stealing, scavenging, and salvaging in order to create a rudimentary setup. Then, using public forums of known criminals, he began luring people in to record and livestream their torture and murder. What initially started as a way to simply make money reignited that secret bloodlust and desire to inflict pain on others for his own sadistic pleasure that he had experimented with as a child. He began viewing his killing as an art form and using it to entertain and enrapture other like minded monsters like himself. This generated a large following and with it, a large profit.
Now established in his trade, he began looking for partners to aid in his goal of creating his own successful red room which he could profit off of and eventually found someone to work as a kidnapper. His business eventually became so lucrative that he was approached by a mysterious, wealthy individual by the name of Adam with the proposition of going into business together. With a bit of arm-twisting, Joseph agreed.
To this day Joseph creates lists, pulling names from news articles about convicts walking free and convicted criminals of heinous crimes that are expected to be released or receive an unjustly light sentence, sends his compatriot to collect them, and then tortures them live for the viewing pleasure of an audience. It’s become a very profitable business that has garnered much competition over the years but in terms of grotesque cruelty, audience participation, engagement, and entertainment value, The Executioner is a cut above all the rest and unmatched in his field.
For the most part, Joseph is a calm, quiet, independent person. He prefers to keep to himself, engaging in things that interest him and largely avoiding interaction with others where possible. His behavior can sometimes be regarded as antisocial or lonely. Truthfully, however, Joseph does not feel the need to connect with others and will often try to avoid doing so, with very few exceptions. He is very independent and naturally suspicious or distrustful of others and their intentions - though he is excellent at masking this and avoiding attracting suspicion to himself. His history makes it difficult to connect with others and form bonds or relationships, and he often feels uncomfortable with intimacy and affection. He dislikes feeling vulnerable and avoids losing control at all times. He is very blunt about his boundaries, sometimes to the point of being seen as rude. He does not appreciate or allow for unwanted contact and will be very firm about keeping people from coming too close when he does not want them to.
Chillingly, this quiet demeanor sits comfortable beneath a carefully cultivated facade that Joseph has spent years crafting. For him to approach someone of his own volition, it is usually done with some ulterior motive - one that he keeps carefully hidden and undetected for his own personal gain. When he chooses to be, Joseph comes off as hammy, charismatic, and charming. He paints himself as friendly, trustworthy, and approachable. He displays dramatic flair, a boisterous laugh, and love for the spotlight. He roots himself as the center of attention to off put any doubts about his character. Occasionally, this strange mask may begin to bleed into more genuine interest and delight, especially if he is approached with particular topics that he’s knowledgeable or passionate about.
Still, even when he’s in a chummy mood, acquaintances best keep their distance. While he is largely self-monitored and keeps a tight grip on his emotions and sense of control while medicated, Joseph is still temperamental and quick to anger. He may grow defensive without warning if he feels at all threatened by unfamiliar company and display coldness and passive-aggressiveness, if not outright hostility. When he is off of his medications - which he routinely does in preparation for a show - his emotions swing on a sudden and volatile extreme. His behavior ramps up, becoming more aggressive, paranoid, and manic. Spurred on by his innate sadistic desire for violence, he’s more likely to strike first and ask questions later. Oftentimes, it takes outside intervention to bring him down from the frenzied high he gets off of killing people on stream.
At his core, Joseph is a deeply disturbed man who prefers his own company for the fact that at least by himself, he knows he cannot be hurt or betrayed. He trusts very few and finds it difficult to bond with or connect with others. He can be genuine about his interests and does have the capacity to care for others. Though difficult it may be to connect with him, those that have know that he is fiercely loyal and protective, reliable, persistent, and very supportive. He does enjoy the connections he shares, few as they may be, and is a very kind and honest friend who will offer his assistance wherever possible. And though he knows he is irredeemable, he seems to be fine with that.

The identity of the Executioner is unknown. He has no online accounts linking him to his red room job and no personal information of himself online. He’s been completely off the grid since he was kicked out of foster care, which is partially why even the government has not been able to track him down. There are no leads to his identity.
That said, Joseph does have multiple social media accounts, but none of his personal information is available on any of them. He goes by the username RedrumCat, his profile pictures are of his angora, and he only uses them to advertise his art.
Joseph is a very volatile person. If he’s made angry or scared, his first instinct is to swing.
It’s very difficult to find records of Joseph’s existence past foster care. This is partially because of his name change. He changed his name shortly after dropping out and went on to essentially disappear. He has no records, identification cards, passports, etc. (Not legitimate ones at least). He also doesn’t have a death certificate either. (Yes, this means Joseph has committed tax fraud.)
Joseph and Dmitry were dating at some point. It was a very brief relationship, ending shortly after Konstantin left the nest. Joe actually helped raise Konstantin to a degree.
Joseph’s favorite movie is Pinocchio.
Joseph likes being in control in bed. He likes dominating his partner and tends to be rough during sex.
Joseph is heavy into BDSM. He enjoys restraining his partner and utilizing power dynamics in bed.
Joseph enjoys knifeplay and will frequently use it in bed with a willing partner.
Joseph takes pride in leaving marks on his partner. Bites, bruises, claw marks, etc. are all a source of pride for him.
