MAIN VERSE
Superstar Cop - A verse in which Harry maintains sobriety, returns to the RCM, and becomes the incredible detective he was always meant to be. Though his continued work is not without its struggles. He's still badly wounded and recovering from all that happened, even if he can't remember it all. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Kitsuragi takes up Harry's invitation to transfer between precincts and joins the Major Crimes Unit over at Jamrock's Precinct 41.
Hobo Cop - A verse in which Harry solves the case but it costs him everything. Unable to escape his dependence on drugs and alcohol to function, and having caused Kim to be shot in the process, Harry is barred from returning to the precinct. He does his best to adapt to living as a disgraced former detective in Martinaise, surviving in the old woman's fishing shack and eventually joining the Hardie boys to make up for the fact he cost them so many lives.
ALTERNATE VERSES
Punkrock Paradise - A verse in which the roles are reversed; Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi of the 57th Precinct is a habitual user of alcohol and drugs. Having started with use of marijuana and spiraled from there in an attempt to cope with the constant stress of never-ending harassment, Kim briefly sought hope of getting clean and causing actual change in the world by joining the RCM. It did not go as planned. After a particularly gruesome case, he went off on a bender and proceeded to lose all his memory shortly after arriving in Martinaise. Upon coming to, the ace detective finds himself partnered with the legendary Harry Du Bois - the 41st Precinct's Human Can-Opener. Desperate to prove himself and solve the case, Kim must reconcile his wild, out-of-control speedfreak eccentricities with his remarkable detective skills in order to solve this case before disaster strikes. Not that he knows that yet. It's a shame the odds are stacked against him so heavily.
