Sakura and Akira were born in Japan, the result of their corpo father’s negligence during a one-night stand. Their entrance to life was rough - their mother struggled to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads in their poor little community. The two spent their childhood watching their local tech shop owner work and doing odd jobs for him around the shop to scrape up a little extra cash. On one fateful day, a Arasaka military convoy was passing through and happened to spot one of the children working on an engineering design with scraps in front of the shop. Noting how she looked very clean, the soldiers instructed her to collect her things as she would be trained as a member of Arasaka. Akira was stunned by the request, and upon learning that her family would not be allowed to come with her, she set to devise a plan with Sakura. The two created a persona by the name of Shirabe Mitsuki. Seeing as they were identical twins, their plan was to switch places to play to their respective strengths and receive equal training, education, and benefits from Arasaka while masquerading as one person. Sakura started them off, hiding her sister in her luggage amidst some clothes and knick-knacks and against all odds, the two’s ramshackle plan actually worked. Sakura showed promise in all things hardware, Akira showed promise in all things software, and both performed masterfully in their physical regimes, earning themselves a higher education.
The two were promoted over the course of numerous years and eventually began work on a project known as Kitsune. The goal of the personal project was to create an impressive and expansive AI network that could infiltrate, siphon, and destroy any server it touched, while still being specific enough to obey the user’s input of where to place itself, how hard to hit, and what to take. The program started off as a rudimentary daemon, but quickly evolved into a sophisticated AI that they called Kitsune, otherwise known as Nine Tail for its nine specifications: infiltrate, investigate, locate, monitor, record, retrieve, siphon, store, and eradicate. The program began to handle more and more complex tasks, and it quickly developed into a much more all-encompassing creation. All the while, they worked in Arasaka’s intelligence and counterintelligence departments, fighting on the front lines of a Corpo war with Militech. That was until Arasaka learned about their personal project. The company was immediately interested in buying Kitsune, and when the twins refused, the company attempted to seize the project by force and discovered that Shirabe Mitsuki was not one person, but two. The two were to be charged for their deception and have everything they owned confiscated. However, they stored the base code for Kitsune on a shard, had it fry every other server it existed on, and caused a blackout for Arasaka which served as a distraction for them to sneak onto a flight to the Night City branch of the company where they escaped.
With Arasaka now in the dark as to their whereabouts, the two set about trying to rebuild some semblance of a life for themselves. They were completely jaded towards corporations in their entirety, and started by setting up shop in an abandoned power plant. They began scrapping to rebuild their server system and within a year, Kitsune was back online. They began netrunning and getting involved in Night City’s underground criminal network, where they started off as simple hackers and small-time mercenaries doing data siphoning, malware development, and spotting for larger fixers. Eventually however, they began using Kitsune and taking on netrunning jobs and larger gigs, using their software to wipe any trace of them. They became renowned for their talent of infiltrating company databases to gather information without ever being caught, and their remote services as hackers. With their new fame came a new persona, this time going by Valor Moreau, otherwise known as the Phant0m.
Time and a good reputation have been kind to the twins. They’ve managed to remain completely off the grid over the years and made quite a bit of cash while doing so. They can show their faces in public again, and even run their own techie shop as yet another front to mask their business. They’ve remained in control of the Kitsune program, which has since evolved into more than just a software and become a highly sophisticated AI which handles everything from bypassing Arasaka security to helping them fix mechanics and reminding them when their next hairdresser appointment is. Through it all, the twins have remained incredibly close and loyal to each other, and they have more than secured themselves a drink at the Afterlife.
Sakura and Akira may only be fronting as one person, but they are still two very unique individuals. That being said, they know each other more than anything and often share one mind without even trying. Some might consider the way they can seemingly communicate without so much as looking at each other or their ability to finish each other’s sentences as creepy, but they just see it as a side-effect have to be perfectly in sync for the last three decades lest they be deleted like files on a computer by their corporate overlords. While they might always be on the same wavelength though, they are far from one and the same.
Both twins share an aura of measured control and elegance, mirroring each other’s movements and speaking eloquently to convey their messages. They lack nothing as far as grace and beauty is concerned, knowing exactly how to present themselves so that their clients get the full professional experience. Their refinement can come off as snooty or belligerent at times without meaning to, but unlike their corporate counterparts, they no longer have an obligation to simply take rude comments lying down. If insulted, they will lay down a verbal beatdown as brutal as the physical one they can dish out. Appearances can be deceiving, and where these two are concerned, deception is their life’s work. Especially when they’re together. They are a perfect storm.
Independently, Sakura is the hardware specialist and the more playful and bubbly of the two. Often donning vibrant reds and pinks, Sakura derives a great amount of joy from puzzles and riddles, and she finds it very therapeutic to physically work on mechanics. She’s generally considered the more outgoing and vibrant of the two, enjoying conversation and social gatherings a bit more and easily being able to cater to a crowd. While still far from enjoying being the center of attention, she tends to be more skilled at gracefully staying close enough to the spotlight to be entertaining, while still managing to avoid stepping directly into it. Sakura is also regarded as being the more affectionate, compassionate, and flirty of the two. She always has a few eurodollars to spare for someone in need and tries to be helpful wherever she can. She also tends to be the one doing physical infiltration work due to her specialty as a quickhacker and a stealth master.
By comparison, Akira is much more withdrawn. The software specialist of the two, her skill over code and software engineering is near unmatched on the streets. Where Sakura goes as a sneak, Akira does the spotting from hacked cameras and disabled security systems. She’s much less inclined to get her hand physically dirty and finds much more pleasure in listening to music while writing programs and updates, or spending her evenings watching TV and making food at home. Shy isn’t the right word for her - rather, she is simply less tolerant of people than Akira is. Her natural aversion to interaction doesn’t stop her from being kind and generous when she can however, as Akira still values human empathy over anything money can give her. She’s just not as comfortable with being in the limelight as her sister is.

Cyberpunk 2077 - MAIN
Valor works as a netrunner for hire, a hacker for hire, and a techie shop owner serving the elite of Night City's underground - and by elite, they mean anyone who can afford them.
Their pride and joy, the Kitsune program, exists on a completely isolated server outside of anyone’s reach but their own. They only use small shards of the program on missions, which destroy itself after a single use.
The two only ever go out one at a time to avoid any potential issues with Arasaka. They look exactly the same and insist on calling themselves Valor.
The two can locate anything digitally or physically. They’re a great resource to have, and they have loyalties unmatched to fixers like Rogue.
