The child of a Chinese and French pair of immigrants, Delphine was born in the United States and raised in a quiet corner of the country out in the North West while the conflict of the Mythic War raged on. Both of her parents were Mythics who lived in hiding for fear of what would happen with all the escalating tensions. As a child, Delphi was considered very strange. She often spent a lot of time by herself and on more than one occasion her parents caught her talking to no one. She learned origami from her mother and learned quickly that she could bring the paper animals she made to life. As she got older, Delphi began waking up in the middle of the night for no reason, claiming she had strange dreams. Her parents would reassure her they were nothing more than nightmares but Delphi would always insist that she felt something was wrong.
As she got older, she learned that the wilds of the Northwest were lush with game, and so Delphine learned how to hunt and fend for herself early on, surviving off of what nature provided. Her father was a craftsman who’d spent many years working in factories prior to their disappearance. He taught Delphi all about technology: how to inventively dismantle and reuse parts, fix up scraps, and create makeshift tools she could use to survive. Both her and her brother Donovan grew to be mighty fine with a gun and once they were old enough, they got discrete operations to mask their more telling Mythic features and enlisted in the military to join the fight. They served for several years, during which Delphine met her husband, Holly. The three of them were eventually discharged due to combat related injuries. They decided to settle down and come home, trying to live normal lives. Delphine and Donovan were distraught to know that their parents were gone and the three ended up relocating south to Nevada to start over. Delphine and Holly married and had their son shortly after the move.
Things passed in relative peace for a while, until they were awoken by an alarm going off for nearby Mythics to seek shelter because a large group of Anti-Mythic Sentimentists were on their way to ransack the town they lived in. Holly wanted to go to the nearest emergency evacuation shelter rather than their assigned shelter, to which Delphine objected saying that she had a terrible feeling about it and had seen something in her dreams. Holly and Donovan thought she was being ridiculous and took her with them anyway. They were the last ones to arrive and only she made it inside. After the mob had passed, she emerged to find that Holly, Donovan, and Todd had all been killed by the crowd. She mourned their loss for months, falling into a deep depression. When she finally emerged, she was a changed woman. She was colder, more distant, and she felt she could no longer stay in her home. She began wandering from place to place seemingly searching for the part of herself she’d lost when her family was killed. Delphine is incredibly detached and feels that she has lost her sense of purpose in the world. So, she’s on the hunt to find it again.
Beautiful, dangerously intelligent, but very cold, Delphine is truly the embodiment of a fox. She knows exactly when to be a scalpel and how to be a hammer. She keeps a good ear out for any helpful information that may be traveling on the wind, and remains a neutral party in the politics of the world. Her savviness with a weapon paired with her ability to go undetected in even the most protected of places makes this vixen an ideal hired arm. However, she’s also very adaptable and inquisitive. Her natural disposition as a sleuth makes he great at tracking down leads when information is limited. She generally seems very unassuming and has a tongue that can both dance and duel as well as she can, which allows her to maintain a level of solitude which she enjoys having. Don’t let her charming tongue and brilliant mind fool you- Delphi works better alone or in a pair and prefers to keep people at arm’s length, still very bitter and heartbroken over the events of her family.
Delphi tends to maintain a very calm facade, even in the most daunting of situations. She is not so fearless as she is uncaring of what happens to herself. She lives only to survive, spending her waking hours scraping together enough caps to afford inn fees and a decent meal if there’s nothing around for her to hunt. She’s incredibly self-reliant, refusing to accept assistance from others. Ultimately, this is a cover up for the fact that she is very wary of humans and their intentions, knowing well that even with the playing field seeming to be leveled after the peace talks and the Acts passage, Mythics like her are still lowest on the social ladder.
Despite her apathetic, numb demeanor, Delphi does have soft spots in her armor. Children in particular tug at her heartstrings. She sympathizes with the outcasts of society, knowing what it is like to be alienated, alone, and at the mercy of cruel fate. She’s not so callous as to turn down a stranger seeking help. In fact, many of her dreams have guided her to do just that- look for people and help them, or watch out for certain people and avoid them. She is still rather kind, compassionate, and generous, helping to tend to the sick and injured and sparing some funds for those who have nothing before sending them on their way. In the end though, Delphi knows that no matter what she does, people’s perceptions of her would always change for the worse if they knew the truth. She is alone in this unkind world and so she yearns to simply do what she can with the time she has left.

FALLOUT 4 VERSE
Pre-Game: Things passed in relative peace for a while, until they were awoken by an alarm going off one night telling people to make for the fallout shelters. Holly wanted to go to the nearest one rather than their assigned shelter, to which Delphine objected saying that she had a terrible feeling about it and had seen something in her dreams. Holly and Donovan thought she was being ridiculous and took her with them anyway. They were the last ones to make it inside. However, their shelter used an experimental cryosleep process to preserve them without their knowing. The four of them were put into stasis only to be pulled out of it years later. She woke up to find someone trying to taker her brother out first and shooting his when they ralized he wasn’t human. They went to Holly next and, upon realizing he had her baby in his arms, they changed their target to little Todd. Holly was shot when he refused to hand the baby over and Delphine was viewed as a backup before being put back into cryosleep. However, proper caution was not taken when putting her back under. Delphine woke up much earlier than expected and on her own accord, finding the long dead corpses of her husband and brother, and realizing her son was missing. Though it happened long ago, the hurt remained incredibly fresh. She found she was the only survivor of this mysterious vault that she later realized was not government sanctioned. Pushing on, she ventured out into the Commonwealth in search of her missing son Todd.
Post-Game: After months of tracking Todd across the Commonwealth and working to reach the Institute through various mean, Delphine realizes that Todd is dead. He was put down humanely after the scientists realized that he wasn’t human. Though the fact that his death was humane does little to comfort Delphine. Having lost her one purpose, she wanders the Commonwealth as a caravan guard, mercenary for hire, a technician for robotics and weapon repairs, a hunter, a tracker, and various other odd jobs before settling to bob between Diamond City and Goodneighbor until she finds some other purpose. She does offer assistance to those in need, usually free of charge.
Delphi can see into the future. Though it mostly happens while she sleeps, she can will herself to do it while awake. It’s just incredibly exhausting.
Delphi can create living paper animals.
Delphi can communicate with the dead. From time to time, the spirit of her husband or brother come and visit her.
Delphi can turn into a fox.
Delphi is very skilled in mechanics, medicine, guns, and explosives
Delphine’s strength is in intelligence, perception, and agility. She has decent endurance but lacks greatly in strength or luck.
Delphine is actually a Guardian and she doesn’t even know it. This is why she has the abilities that she does. Her elements are earth, wind, and fire, but she doesn’t know it yet.
Delphine’s life force is tied to a type of air plant that is constantly on fire growing on a little rock island surrounded by magma in an underground cave somewhere.
Being a Guardian means that Delphine can’t be truly killed unless the object she’s tied to is destroyed completely, and considering not even she knows where it is, that task is nigh possible. However, she is still capable of suffering from mortal injuries. The more severe and fatal, the longer it will take her to recover from them, and she’ll often remain in a comatose-like state unless she Ls given medical care or until she has healed from the injury completely.
One of Delphine’s most prized possessions is a weighted bear she made out of Todd’s old baby blanket. It brings her a lot of comfort to hold when she finds herself in distress.
Fox Delphine curls up into a tight little ball when she sleeps and uses her tail as a pillow.
Delphine’s elemental tie to fire means she doesn’t like the water. Rain unnerves her, she’s averse to traveling on boats, likes to avoid rivers, lakes, and oceans, and dislikes being wet.
On the contrary, she loves air travel or simply walking to destinations.
Delphine’s fire and earth elemental ties mean bending metal is easy. She can navigate terrain easily and stop fire from burning things or spreading. She can also gain a little extra airtime when jumping, gliding, or falling. Additionally, she doesn’t suffer any injuries or harm from falling.
Delphine has a tendency to wrap her tail around herself for comfort. She holds onto it when she feels he needs grounding. She’ll also wrap it around others when she’s feeling intimate or protective of them.
Delphine loves Frank Sinatra and she will shamelessly sing and dance to him.
Delphine can play violin, ukulele, piano, and flute. Violin is definitely her favorite instrument though. She has a custom made one for herself that she sometimes uses to re-enact the band scene from Titanic when she thinks she’s alone plays.
Delphine loves playing with hair. She loves styling her hair, trying new things, and in a relationship, she adores being able to take care of her partner’s hair and make it look and feel nice for them.
Delphine is heavy on shoulder, neck, and jaw kisses. It’s a species thing. She loves kissing upwards along a partner’s shoulder, up their neck, and along their jaw, chin, and cheeks.
Delphine frequently does yoga. It’s a way to help her exercise, remain calm and vigilant, and it just feels like a nice thing to do to relax in her mind.
She has a more active regiment that involves running, climbing, gymnastics, and weightlifting.
Delphine has stretchmarks along her waist and thighs, as well as a couple of old scars from her time in the service. She’s gotten some comments about them from time to time, but she doesn’t really pay them any mind. On occasion, she will get self-conscious about them but for the most part, she’s accepted the way she looks.
Delphine really likes the taste of honey. She puts it on everything: toast, ham, donuts, cookies, fried fish.
She also really likes dairy products like milk and cheese.
Delphine is a bit of a collector. She collects anything that really catches her eye. Anything. She’ll browse old antique stores, yard sales, and knick-knack shops looking for anything she thinks is cute, unique, funny, or worth keeping for the sake of joy. She can be a bit of an impulse buyer, but she thankfully very responsible financially.
Delphine’s role in the service was a combat medic. During her service, she was hoping to study to become a doctor. Unfortunately, she was discharged before she could ever get a formal degree. Still, she has exceptional medical prowess and will put it to good use wherever she can.
