VBCPS, with support from 2Revolutions and funding from the Carnegie Corporation, is engaged in an effort to build and scale transformational educator mindset through “Innovation Squads,” which aim to unlock barriers to and increase agency for educator innovation in realizing the aims of the Graduate Profile (learn more about our work to date here). We are working to scale the Innovation Squads throughout the division by launching a smaller test of the Squads during the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year and into the 2020-2021 school year. From fully formed and ready to go ideas or ideas in need of incubation, we wanted to hear and see how we might be able to support squads through this special opportunity. Selected teachers/specialists are receiving job-embedded support from a central support staff member and may also receive some funds to support their ideas. In return for receiving support and resources, squad members completed a pre- and post-experience survey, meet with a central support staff member to review progress, receive ongoing support, and share their learnings.
