All first-year students at Lawrence University is required to take FRST110. In this course, we will study a cohesive but varied collection of work on a single topic* to cultivate our intellectual curiosity and develop fundamental skills, including the ability to read actively, to understand multiple perspectives, to discuss challenging topics, and to hone writing. The course is taught as a seminar supplemented by events such as panel discussions, lectures, and performances.
*Water is our theme for fall 2024 and fall 2025.
Required text: books and reading materials will be provided to students at the beginning of the term. You do NOT need to purchase any materials for this course.
