Leader(s): Alex Nelson (Chief Editor of The Script / MWIG Liaison)
MWIG hopes to provide a creative outlet to reflect and engage with medicine outside of coursework and the day-to-day demands of school. If you are part of the UWSMPH community and are interested in writing, narrative medicine, art, or the medical humanities, we invite you to join us as we explore and reflect on medicine through noon-talks, workshops, and our semesterly newsletter, The Script.
Want to get involved? Have an idea? We'd love to hear from you! Email mwig.uwsmph@gmail.com

Created and maintained by medical students at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, The Script is a semesterly showcase of medical student writing and art. This newsletter invites us to take time to focus on our interests and process our experiences.
There exists an intrinsic comfort in unity, an allure so many of us strive to mediate through our shared patchwork of identities and beliefs. Our hope is that, in reading these stories, you truly open yourselves up to the experiences of others; both those you find easy to empathize with and those you do not. Through this empathy, the bonds which connect humanity can grow in strength.
Whether you have published three novels or have not written anything since your freshman year Intro to College Writing course, The Script can be your podium, soapbox, and/or creative outlet. Overall, we want The Script to be fun and refreshing for the writers, readers, and entire medical school community.
