Sports Medicine Interest Group (SMIG)

The Sports Medicine Interest Group at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health provides medical students opportunities to gain experience and exposure to the field of Sports Medicine. Events held will include lunch talks, tours, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops. Topics will include, but are not limited to:

-The different pathways to becoming a sports medicine physician

-What practicing in sports medicine entails

-How to best prepare yourself as a competitive applicant to sports medicine fellowships

-Common sports injuries, treatment, and prevention techniques

We will work with faculty, fellows, and residents at UW Health to gain exposure to the specialty of Sports Medicine.
