Trips & Events
The most up-to-date resource for trips and events is our UW Outers Club Facebook group. Be sure to join the group for the ongoing term linked from the general group.
The Outers club relies on its volunteers and members to organize trips. By organizing a trip yourself and opening it up to other members you can provide a lot of value to the cub. Trips can vary from short day hikes to longer, week long canoeing trips.
Our Spring 2018 meeting time and place are Mondays, 5:30 to 6:30pm, in QNC 2501.
We like to meet once a week, usually on Monday evenings, for a relaxed social hour (or two, or three!). It gives us an opportunity to meet new people, share stories and pictures from previous trips , teach each other new skills, watch movies, and plan trips together. Come out and join us for a few nice evenings if you can. There's no commitment, just show up if you want to meet friendly people with similar interests. From time to time, members will host specially themed events, and you're always welcome to host one yourself.
At the beginning of each term we hold a general meeting. There we explain how the club functions, give a sneak peak into trips planned for the term, answer your questions, and provide the possibility to sign-up in case you cannot make the office hours.
Some of our past trips included:
- Day hikes along the Bruce trail
- Canoeing and backcountry camping in Algonquin and Killarney
- Winter cottage trips in Ontario and to Mont Orford
- Camping on the Bruce Peninsula
- Cycling tours to the Kissing Bridge and Elmira
