There are many ways to get involved with the club.
Organize a trip
The Outers club relies on its volunteers and members to organize trips. These trips can vary from short day hikes to longer, week long canoeing trips. Organizing a trip is a great way to gain some leadership experience.
You've got an idea for a trip? Share it in our UW Outers Club Facebook group or discuss it at our weekly meetings. Feel free to create an event in the Facebook group dedicated to the current term if you have concrete plans.
If you're organizing a trip for Outers club members, you can apply for the trip leader subsidy to help with the trip costs.
Do you have questions? Contact our exec team, we're here to help.
The club could not run without some volunteers. All volunteers get free rentals! Some things you can help with as a volunteer:
- equipment rentals and membership sign-ups during the office hours,
- equipment repairs,
- social events (weekly meetings, instructional sessions, …),
- social outreach (advertising, newsletter, trip summaries, …),
Become an executive
As an executive you can take an active role in shaping the future of the club. Executives are usually recruited from members who have been volunteering for at least a term.
