TROPICS Lab

Translational Optics Imaging and Spectroscopy Lab, is led by Dr. Ashwin B. Parthasarathy at the University of South Florida

I joined the research group briefly back in Summer of 2021 after taking Electromagnetism course at USF taught by Dr. Parthasarathy. Over the summer my work involved working on automation of a mechanical system for the movement of test sample on a laser optical bench. Post the completion of fall 2021 semester, I joined the lab once again where I am working with graduate mentor Sadhu Moka on development, assembly, and data collection of Near-Infrared or Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy (NIRS or DOS) and Diffuse Correlation Spectroscopy (DCS) clinical monitoring systems.

Near-Infrared or Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy (NIRS or DOS) and Diffuse Correlation Spectroscopy (DCS)

  • Worked on RF circuitry development assembly of DOS system in the lab. using RF components such as splitters, amplifiers, clocks etc.

  • Worked on laser calibration for the upgrade of the Diffusion Correlation Spectroscopy system residing in the lab
