Bioelectronics Group Research
Bioelectronics/Biotechnology Group, formerly known as SiC group, is lead by Dr. Stephen Saddow at the University of South Florida
I joined the research group back in November of 2020 after serving as a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Saddow's foundations of engineering course over the Fall 2020 semester. From November 2020 - Present, I worked with a team of fellow undergraduates on a time sensitive project dealing with the design, implementation, and testing of an analog audio system for novel CoVID-19 masks (Find details below...).
Audio system for novel CoVID-19 masks
Assisted the electronics lead designer in designing the Operational Amplifier integration to the existing PCB design
Prototyped the circuit on a bread board in the lab and conducted standard audio system testing procedures before sending the design for PCB printing.
Populated the PCB with electrolytic electrical components and microphone/speaker systems
Tested the final PCB layout and certified it for the mask integration
Next step is to work on a digital audio system where integration of advanced features such as noise cancellation can be possible. Several C language based hardware boards are proposed for the task, currently researching the best options to proceed with.
Instrumentation used during the project: Standard Oscilloscopes, wave form generators, multimeters, and Source meters
