Have you noticed that your pictures aren't transferring when you copy a quiz, page, assignment, etc. to another course? You may also notice that they aren't transferring when you send a quiz, page, or assignment to another teacher. There's an easy fix. Just follow these directions.
All your pictures need to be stored in your account files. To find your files, go to account, files. These files are shared across ALL your courses.
Create a folder for your pictures.
First, make sure you are in My Files (just click on it). Then click on +Folder and then give it an appropriate name. You'll notice I named mine Pictures for Canvas Quizzes.
Do you see on my screenshot above that there are little green check marks. That means those files are all published so those pictures will be visible for anyone even if I send my canvas quiz, assignment or page to another teacher.
It's time to upload your pictures. I highly suggest giving them names you can easily search for using tag lines. For example, if the picture is of a lion, be sure to name it 'lion 1' or something similar.
Click on the folder
Click and drag your pictures from your computer into the folder. You will get a status bar to show them uploading. You can also click the upload button and pick the files from your computer files.
Be sure the green check mark is still visible for each picture file.
In your canvas quiz, page, or assignment, click on the small picture icon and then select user images. This will open a new window on the right side of your screen.
In the new window on the right, type in the title of the picture you are looking for. Then click on the picture you want to insert. Only click it once and wait a few moments. It may take time for it to load.
If you click it too many times, you will get multiple pictures. If you get multiple pics, you can just delete the extras with the delete button on your keyboard.
Now your picture is embedded into your canvas page, quiz, or assignment. It will be there even if you copy this canvas page, assignment, or quiz to another course or share it with another teacher.
If the students or other teachers can't see the picture, be sure to check your files and make sure that small green check mark is visible.
