Raynier Ramos is the President of First-Generation Legal Professionals. He is a Juris Doctor and Master’s of Arts in Peace and Justice (JD/MAPJ) candidate at USD. He is a San Diego native, but received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz with majors in Legal Studies and the History of Art and Visual Culture. Professionally, his interests center around constitutional law (with an emphasis on civil rights), employment law, education law, tort law, and public interest advocacy. During the summer of 2022, he will be working with the Human Rights Campaign as a McCleary Law Fellow to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights throughout the United States. During the fall of 2022, he will be working with the Sweetwater Union High School District as a Legal Intern to help protect the rights and interests of educators and students throughout the district.
Outside of work, Raynier enjoys going on hikes around San Diego, testing out new recipes, and maintaining an ever growing plant collection. When he can, he also enjoys visiting local shops, restaurants, and other establishments to get to know his community better.
