SR-57 PDW PATTERN DESCRIPTION
MANUFACTURER UNION ARMS COMPANY
IN SERVICE 2157-PRESENT
CARTRIDGE 5.7x28mm
Designed in the years leading up to and being adopted in 2157, the SR-57 is seen as the successor to both the UA-54M "Buzzard" and SR-51 "Stovepiper". The weapon was affectionately nicknamed "Shredder" by servicemen due to its abnormally high rate of fire, and as such its performance as a PDW was - and still is - exceptional. Today, it is seen as the "funding" middle ground between the tried and true SR-51 and the newest SR-60 line of weaponry, with the PDW pattern often given to vehicle crewmen for its more compact size.
Still, as a PDW, its effective range is still something to be desired by servicemen to those that were not issued (or could not afford) the MOD-4 rifle conversion pattern. Despite this, it is still favored by the servicemen and units that it is still fielded to today across the USRF.

CARTRIDGE 6.8x45mm NEU
In the USRF's quest to modernize their arsenal while both saving money and making use of older-generation weapons, the MOD-4 Pattern series of conversions was designed for the SR-57. This was done in order to simply keep less funded units that were still issued with the SR-57 up-to-par with better funded units in the field that were issued the SR-60 line of weapon patterns while also keeping production of weaponry cheap and simple.
The simply named "MOD-4 Pattern" is an assault rifle conversion of the SR-57 "Shredder" PDW to bring it up to par with the SR-60 Commander, with a re-chambering of the weapon to fire 6.8x45mm NEU and a longer barrel length to increase the effective range of the weapon in firefights (and other small re-design tweaks to fix past weapon issues and complaints) at the cost of a heftier recoil due to its weight from the larger caliber. Intended for mainly medium-range usage, its more compact size sees it useful in close-quarters combat scenarios.

The SR-57 MOD-4 Echo reconfigures the SR-57 into an LMG, fitting a quad stack magazine, bipod, and a longer barrel in the 57's small frame to assist in longer-range firefights where superior suppression is required. It is often dwarfed by other weapons classified as "LMGs" (both in size and performance), being about the length of a conventional assault rifle, but makes up for this with a quick fire rate and a lighter (albeit, slightly off-balance) weight than its contemporaries.

The SR-57 MOD-4 Sierra reconfigures the PDW into a DMR, with a heavier, longer barrel for better recoil compensation and a more effective firing range and only comes in a single-shot firing mode. It is important to note though that the Sierra Pattern is still a lighter weapon than other contemporary marksman rifles - making it both easier to handle yet harder to manage recoil - and often comes with a smaller magazine designed for the configuration's role.

The SR-60B is based off of the same basic body as the SR-60A "Commander", with minor differences. The SR-60B, or "Drummer" as it's known due to its loud, drumming sound it makes when firing, features a longer barrel and a folding bipod. Although heavily modified from the base SR-60, the Drummer is still capable of accepting the same optic systems. The Drummer is intended for use in mid-to-long ranges and is known for its effective suppression when deployed by a skilled autogunner team.

CARTRIDGE 6.8x45mm NEU
Derived from the SR-60's body, the SR-60C is the first truly dedicated Designated Marksman Rifle produced and fielded by the Northeastern Union. Despite the SR-60's reputation for terrifying effect at long range, it was decided that it simply wasn't enough. By increasing barrel length and adding a folding stock, the rifle was turned into a truly effective long ranged weapon of war. When put in the hands of a skilled marksman, the SR-60's base capabilities combined with the increased effective range make for a truly lethal combination.

CARTRIDGE .300 Mendel Magnum, .338 Lapua Magnum
Most contemporary sniper rifles are often bolt-action, with the rifle having to be primed with a pull of the bolt after each shot. This keeps the weapon simple to mass-produce with the littlest chance of malfunction. The SR-60D is not that, instead with the USRF opting to draw from the SR-60's base design in order to create a superior, semi-automatic sniper rifle than previous models that had been fielded to units. The SR-60D Overwatch differs in several ways from the SR-60 Commander: with a lengthy heavy barrel, bipod connected to the weapon body, a powerfully magnified scope with built-in rangefinder, and a re-chambering to .300 Mendel Magnum (though it has been reported to be compatible with .338 Lapua Magnum) to drastically increase its long-range capabilities.

CARTRIDGE .50 BMG, 12.7x99mm NEU
A rifle firing .50 BMG seems like an overkill solution for a problem that is easily solved by an intermediate round, but for a hyper-militaristic society it is the next obvious step in fielding armaments for its soldiers. Originating from the Pacific Union and winding up in the NEU along the way, the ASR-50 is designated as both an 'anti-material rifle' and an 'anti-materiel rifle' for its use in dispatching soldiers and damaging military equipment (along with the sheer power a .50 Cal holds), but is recognized as a heavy sniper rifle in most cases. Equipped with a detachable thermal sight with an integrated rangefinder, a massive brick of a muzzle brake fitted on a recoiling barrel to assist in recoil mitigation, and an ergonomic stock for comfort; the ASR-50 is a long-range rifle that is meant to be used on its unfolding bipod against a surface in order to aid accuracy and preventing recoil-based injuries while on the field.

CARTRIDGE 7x23mm
The DT7 is a strange pistol, often rarely seen, but it is one that's results cannot be denied. Using 7x23mm caseless ammunition, the pistol is effective at piercing light armor plating. An easy-to-control weapon, it's fairly configurable to more easily suit its intended use with its multitude of its attachments: including an quick-detach barrel system to allow for quick swapping between a suppressor and a normal barrel and extending stock. Its nature as a fairly powerful and lightweight, modular pistol gives it the reputation of a "special forces" sidearm: and for the right price, you can feel like you're finally in the big leagues.

CARTRIDGE EBC Gel
A timeless artifact with a futuristic take. The Supercolt, at first glance, appears a normal remodel of an M1911 Colt handgun, but upon anyone's closer inspection it is anything but. These Colts have been retrofitted with a completely double-action hammer and a rechambering to fire EBC gel bullets - primarily blue or purple colored gel. While not having much stopping power, the EBC gel rapidly expands through an exothermic reaction: burning the victim and causing a small explosion that causes small 'craters' on targets that it hits. The gel bullets are mainly effective against unprotected skin and clothing because of this. It may not put a big hole through your target, but it'll cause a lot of pain that'll leave them with something to remember.
Supercolts may also come with a separate attachment mount* that allow for specialized gadget attachments** which affect the accuracy and handling of the pistol at the cost of making it a bit more bulky and unwieldy in the hands.
*Attachment mount not included.
