The Cygnet continues the tradition of publishing literary and art creations that The Clay Tablet started in the 1970s at Clayton Junior College. On April 11th, 2005 Cygnet was published as the campus literary arts magazine introduced at the Arts and Sciences Department's "Faculty /Staff Poetry Night". Each volume contains poetry, drama, prose, photography, and various art forms. Contributions come from the students, the faculty, and staff of Clayton. The publication accepts fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, sequential, and art submissions from Clayton State University students each year.
