The Cygnet is a journal of Arts and Literature for Clayton State University and is published by the College of Arts and Sciences. The publication's mission is to encourage creative writing and art by providing a forum for artists and writers to display their works. Opinions and aesthetics expressed in the Cygnet are those of individual writers and artists and are not necessarily those of Clayton State's administration, faculty, staff, or student body.
The Cygnet maintains the tradition of releasing literary and artistic creations that began with Clayton Junior College's Clay Tablet publication in the 1970s. Each volume contains poetry, drama, prose, photography, and various forms of art. Contributions to the publication come from students, faculty, and staff of Clayton State.
