I’m a Workplace Rep in hospitality & Branch Chair of Cardiff General with over 2,000 members.
I’ve supported striking workers across Cardiff and South Wales- including ambulance members, nurses and standing side by side with reps who are facing anti-union tactics from the Cardiff council. A strong believer in growing the hospitality sector in Unite- and was proud to defend action by Cardiff glee club workers fighting for recognition. As well as protesting big business stealing workers tips. Proud to have extended trade union support to trans day of remembrance and trans pride. I will ensure that voices of the LGBT community are heard, including trans workers.
I am standing for the Unite Executive to build on the achievements in Unite since the election of Sharon Graham as our General Secretary in 2021.
We must maintain our record of being prepared to take militant industrial action, whoever the employer is.
I totally support:
2021 Unite Conference policy to call on Labour councils to refuse to pass on cuts that affect our members and our communities.
The emergency motion that was passed at this year’s Unite Conference in support of our Birmingham bin worker members, and for a debate in our union about our relationship with Labour.
