Predatory Bacteria - BALOs

Bdellovibrio and like organisms (BALOs) are predatory bacteria capable of attacking and killing other Gram-negative bacteria. Our laboratory investigates their predatory mechanisms, host range, and antimicrobial activity against pathogenic and multidrug-resistant bacteria.

We aim to understand how these bacterial predators interact with their prey and to evaluate their potential as living antimicrobial agents and alternatives or complements to conventional antibiotic treatments.

델로비브리오 및 유사 미생물 (BALOs)은 다른 그람 음성균을 공격하여 사멸시킬 수 있는 포식성 박테리아입니다. 우리 연구실은 이들의 포식 기전, 숙주 범위, 그리고 병원성 및 다제내성균에 대한 항균 활성을 연구하고 있습니다.

우리는 이러한 포식성 박테리아가 먹이균과 어떻게 상호작용하는지 규명하고, 생물학적 항균제로서의 잠재력 및 기존 항생제 치료의 대안 또는 보완책으로서의 가능성을 평가하고자 합니다.
