What are Specialty Centers?
Imagine your child has a special talent or a strong interest. He or she might be very good at drawing or want to be a doctor. High school teaches many subjects to everyone. Specialty centers are schools where your child can focus on that special talent. Most specialty centers are in high school. Students still take the required courses like all students. They also have classes in their special interest field.
Students must apply in middle school to go to specialty centers. Your guidance counselor will help you and your student learn about specialty centers.
