Genetically modified foods do not have to be labelled in the United States, however a number of voluntary labels exist to identify foods that are not genetically modified. The only government issued food label that has a specific non-gmo standard is USDA certified Organic. The rest of the non-gmo certifications come from third-party organizations or private companies with individual testing and verification standards.
