Intro to the basics
Intro to AI
This section defines AI, provides an overview of the common techniques that are used in AI, and explains common categories of AI. At the end of this section, you will train your own machine. This activity will give you a hands-on experience with facial recognition technology, help you to understand how it works, and assist you in identifying its potential applications. This activity will also encourage discussion and critical thinking about the ethical implications of using this technology.
Basic Understanding of AI itself
Hands on Activity!
It is time to train your own machine! Here's an activity that involves facial recognition using Google's AI Experiments:
On the AI Experiments website select Teachable Machine.
Choose "Get Started" and "Select Image" to start training your own image model. These experiments use machine learning to recognize faces and facial expressions in real-time.
Follow the instructions for the experiment you chose.
Reflect on the experience and discuss with classmates. What did you learn about how facial recognition technology works? How might this technology be used in real-world applications? What are some potential benefits and drawbacks to using facial recognition technology?
