Rise Above is played on a 6' x 8' field. An alliance consisting of two teams must collaborate and score as many points as possible within a time limit of 60 seconds. The scoring objects are 8.75" tall Risers. To score points, teams must score Risers in the goals placed around the field. There are 27 Risers on the field. 1 point is scored when a Riser is placed in a goal. 3 points are scored when a row is completed. This is achieved by scoring 3 Risers of one color in a row. A completed stack is worth 30 points. This is when a goal is part of a completed row and contains exactly 3 Risers that are stacked on top of each other. The goal must only contain Risers of the same color. Teams may also compete in Driver and Programming Skills during a competition. During a Driver Skills match, 2 drivers from the same team must score as many points as possible with their robot within a 60 second time limit. During a Programming Skills match, the robot must score as many points as possible within a 60 second time limit and no driver control. Team members may pick their robots up when it is on the field and move it to a starting position during a Programming Skills match. That is the only human interference allowed during these matches.
