Middle School and High School Students
VEX EDR teams, also referred to as VRC, competes in the VEX Robotics Competition.The VEX Robotics Competition is the largest robotics competition in the world. Through the VEX Robotics competition, students learn project management and design, collaboration, engineering, and many other life-skills.
Elementary School and Middle School Students
VEX IQ teams compete in the VEX IQ Challenge of the VEX Robotics program. VEX IQ is designed to allow younger students to gain a grasp STEM, and enhance their critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. The easy hands-on, snap together plastic pieces allow students to gain a love for robotics and engineering.
University / College Students
The VEX U program competes in the same competition as VEX EDR, just in a different division. VEX U teams compete in separate competitions than VEX EDR teams, as where VEX U students are college level.
Each year, VEX offers a number of online challenges. Online challenges can be done as a team, or individually for a team. Those challenges include: Make it Real CAD Engineering Challenge, Community Award Online Challenge, Robotics Team Website Challenge, VEX Photography Online Challenge, Promote, and Girl Power Online Challenge. The winners of each challenge earn a spot to that year's VEX Worlds Championships.
TSA is a non-profit organization of middle school and high school students who are engaged in STEM. The mission of TSA is to enhance personal development, leadership, and career choices through STEM. TSA holds many robotics competition, and STEM related intracurricular activities.
Project Lead The Way is an organization committed to providing students PreK-12 classroom learning experiences that give pathways in computer science, engineering, and other ares of STEM. The PLTW goal is to empower students to thrive in an evolving world.
