Research Foundations and Purpose
Text Neck Syndrome (TNS) has become one of the leading causes of musculoskeletal discomfort of the neck in young-adult populations, demonstrating a pressing clinical problem to be investigated. Our research will look to identify causative factors related to the onset of neck pain related to mobile phone use.
Strategic AimsÂ
Our overall objective is to generate pilot data on the feasibility and efficacy of behavioral modifications in response to neck pain due to mobile phone use. We aim to identify causative factors that contribute to the onset of neck pain and how postural reminders may affect the incidence and severity of pain-related behavior over a 14-day period. We will assess symptomatic response using self-reported data to track the amount of time spent in poor posture.
