I am currently an undergraduate senior here at UF with a major in Nuclear Engineering. I have been a part of the group for two years and am also a part of another research group within the Nuclear Engineering Department. I am planning on pursuing a Ph.D. with research focused on applying nuclear technologies for space-based applications.
I am currently working with Dr. Amy Miller who is a post-doc in the UF Astronomy Department. In contrast to the rest of the group who primarily focus on cosmology, my research focuses primarily on stellar astronomy. I am currently helping with a project that is seeking to explore the characteristic size scale of Young Stellar Objects (YSOs) within the Large Magellanic Cloud. I am currently using Python to compute parameters related to these objects, such as photometric magnitudes, to provide information that can assist in the determination and analysis of the characteristic size scale.
I will be joining the Pennsylvania State University's Ph.D. program in nuclear engineering in the fall!
