Transfer data from cluster

Mount on cluster

Step1: plug in hard drive on Loren (cluster)

Step2: check name of hard disk by fdisk -l | grep NTFS (first name is the disk name)

Step3: mount hard disk on server by, mount -t ntfs-3g /hard disk name /mnt/Windows

Step 4: cd /mnt/Windows

Step5: cd Loren

Step6: check folder size needs to be transferred, cd export2/home, by

Step7: du -h --max-depth=1, to check folder size

Step8: go to mnt/Windows

Step9: transfer data by, rsync -hrtpluP /export2/home/b* destination folder (.)

Step10: unmount the hard disk by, umount /dev/sde1 (hard disk name)
