Kaberi Mukherjee (English and Languages; Principal - Junior Wing)
Mrs Mukherjee is the seniormost teacher at Udaan Vidyalaya being involved since 2018, she is our bedrock of strength and a guiding light to all students and teachers alike. At 69 years young she is as enthusiastic about her subject and students as anyone. She has had a long and distinguished career as an English teacher at various schools and since her retirement has been involved with Udaan.
Under her mentor-ship students from the most humble backgrounds have performed beyond expectations (85 % Anshu Kumari, 89% Gaurav Singh- both from Government Schools in Delhi)
Asha Kumari (intern)
Asha had to discontinue her schooling in class 9 due to her family's financial situation, Udaan helped her clear her Board Exams and she is now enrolled in the first year of college
She has interned with us since 2019 and is training to be a teacher. Her interests include reading and art work
Priti Kumari
Priti, like Asha had to drop out of regular schooling in 2015 due to familial pressure. She was also being forced into an under-age marriage which was averted due to intervention by teachers at Udaan.
She has turned her family's fortunes around by being the sole breadwinner and supports her siblings education.
She is desirous of clearing the prestigious UPSC exams in the future
Itysham Khatoon (Founder, Managing Trustee)
Itysham is a postgraduate in Political Science and graduated from the prestigious Delhi University. She is also an accomplished painter (Bachelors in Commercial and Fine Art) having curated and displayed her paintings at various galleries in Delhi including the prestigious Gandhi Art Gallery Sultanpur. She was also the winner of the HUDCO National Art Gallery Painting competition 2019. She teaches Political Science and History to the Higher Secondary Classes and paints during her free time
Nikhil Banerjee (Founder and Trustee)
Nikhil was the first teacher at Udaan (since 2017) and has studied Computational Biology at Carnegie Melon and is a qualified UGC-NET Scholar in Life Sciences. He teaches Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to the secondary and senior secondary classes. He also teaches English and Hindi at the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
