What is the Udaan family?

Udaan is a family of five teachers and 69 students, all from the locality of Kishangarh- an urban sprawl in New Delhi. The students come from diverse backgrounds but the common thread is that they belong to marginalised and poor families. 

Udaan's mission is to ensure that the children that study here are given an opportunity to excel at school and in life. Many students that study here have been forced to dropout of school due to social circumstances and an educational system loaded against their favour.

Care is taken to ensure that every student acquires the skills necessary (reading, writing and basic arithmetic) to navigate life successfully. We sincerely believe there is but one route out of poverty, and it is one that passes through a school.
