Injection Site

• 1/2 way or more up the internal surface of the ramus (at least 1/2 way to the maxillary occlusal surface)

• Just medial to ramus and lateral to the pterygomandibular ligament

Instructions:

1. Place finger on coronoid notch (height of injection is bisecting thumbnail)

2. Identify soft tissue roll (Pterygomandibular raphe)

3. Insert needle into the the raphe's depression

4. Inject coming from the corner of the mouth (opposite premolars)

5. Once contact bone, withdraw needle slightly and aspirate

• 25 - 30 mm

• Above mandibular canal foramen

• at least 3/4 cartridge (1.35 - 1.8 mL)
