This composting area is hugely important for the farm’s sustainability. Not only does it create a place to put food scraps and organic waste, it also turns into great fertilizer for all the plants of the farm. This system is not only a major benefit to the farm itself but also to the sustainability of UCCS as a whole. A majority of the food scraps that come out of the dining halls here at UCCS are recycled and used in this compost system.
