Join us first for an opening reception, featuring dinner, mingling, and a poetry slam at the Institute for Culinary Arts at the Fort Omaha Campus of MCC. All attendees will get one free drink coupon and a cash bar will be available after.
Dinner begins at 5:30, and the poetry slam starts at 7!
The Fort Omaha Campus is an Omaha Local Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Beginning at 7 pm just down the street from the reception at the ICA, the Douglas County Historic Society is hosting "Fort Omaha After Dark," a walking tour of the campus focused on "the history of Fort Omaha alongside accounts of unusual and unexplained experiences reported by people who have worked there, spent time inside the buildings, and know this historic property well."
Join us for dinner on Friday night!

Cibo Vino is an Italian-inspired restaurant known for both food and wine options! Small plates and salads range from $10-15, and entrees from approximately $25-40.
Cibo Vino is located at 1101 Jackson Street, which Google Maps says is only a one-minute walk from the conference hotel!
The Old Market has some great dessert options for you to explore!
Across the street from the hotel, you will find Ted & Wally's, an Omaha institution since 1984. Ted & Wally's has an ever-changing, creative menu (but always has vanilla and dutch chocolate!).
Centi is a newer option for dessert in the Old Market, located on the corner of 11th and Howard. The berry brulee crepe and taro ice cream are very popular at my house!
More ice cream! Tipico Helado has three locations across Omaha, and is known for paletas and creative ice cream concoctions--the mangonadas and strawberry paletas are favorites!
