TXHSWS Scholarship Applications are DUE April 1st!
The TXHSWS Boot’em Up program equips welding students with essential PPE, starting with high-quality safety boots. Thanks to partners like Rock Rooster, R&N Manufacturing and generous other doners, we help students step safely into their welding careers. In addition to boots, the program often coordinates other personal protective equipment to ensure students are well-prepared and safe in the shop.
The Texas High School Welding Series Spotlight Program is designed to honor and celebrate the people who drive our mission forward. We believe success in the skilled trades is built on hard work, mentorship, and community support — and Spotlight gives us a way to recognize those who embody these values.
Each feature highlights an outstanding student, teacher, administrator, business partner, or advocate who is making a difference in welding education. Whether it’s a student reaching new levels of achievement, an educator going above and beyond, or an industry partner creating opportunities, TXHSWS Spotlight shares their story to inspire the next generation.
Because behind every arc is a person worth recognizing!
The Texas High School Welding Series Welding Educators Series is a multi-part professional development sequence created to empower welding instructors with current knowledge, practical skills, and meaningful industry connections.
Hosted annually at locations across the state, these Instructor Seminars are designed with one goal in mind — to provide relevant, hands-on learning that educators can directly apply in their programs. Participants engage in sessions covering:
• Interpreting and teaching from WPS and specification sheets
• Best practices for visual inspection and basic destructive testing
• Understanding TXHSWS student certification pathways and testing standards
• Building connections with industry partners and fellow educators
Through this collaborative environment, the Welding Educators Series helps ensure instructors are equipped with the confidence, resources, and network needed to prepare students for success in the skilled trades.
