We're addressing the Meaning Crisis by Fostering Opportunities for Reconnection, Uplift, Unity, and Meaning.
On the Second Sunday of each month, we have a "Bring-Your-Own-Brunch" social hour from 12-1, followed by a 90 minute "Open Space" discussion.
We focus on the ideas in philosophy, politics, technology, and spirituality popular in online communities that influence many young people, tech billionaires, and political movements, but often go unnoticed by those who prefer to touch grass.
It's a place where the terminally online can go to reconnect, talk about ideas from the Internet zeitgeist, and see how conversations differ when you're face-to-face. It's also for those who are terminally offline to improve their modern media literacy, and get up-to-speed on the ideas and content creators that are influencing our culture.
The format is like a "YouTube Book Club" where several videos and articles related to the topic are posted each month to help inform our conversation. That way we can still have an intelligent discussion without sitting through a lecture or having to finish a whole book to feel included.
Videos and materials are shared for the purpose of inviting participants into open discussion, and are not endorsed by or representative of TVUUC.
Some useful advice if you are currently dealing with a meaning crisis.
