Workers in the Garden - March 2021

It is Spring and the garden needed to be pruned. We had a few days below freezing this winter. These kind workers and more volunteered and worked hard. It will take a few weeks for the garden to rebound but a lot of work was done and it needed it badly. We had fun meeting old and new workers alike and the conversation made the work easier and time flew by. Before we knew it, we were done.

The garden still needs weed pulling. You can adopt a small patch for yourself or a few friends can get together and pick an area.

As luck would have it, workers observed a Zebra Swallowtail laying eggs on Paw Paw. This is the first time we observed the Zebra Swallowtail laying eggs in the garden. Photo by Valerie B.

Sue A. recently cleared this area. Did that make it easier for the butterfly to find its host plant? We do not see this butterfly very often in the garden, so it is considered a treasure to observe.
