Case Study

This case study reflects upon my time as an Auxiliar de Conversación in Madrid and on the realities that Spaniards face while learning English as a second language. My research focuses on the difficulties primary school students, specifically in 3rd grade, faced when learning the English verbs "to be" and "to have". My findings include methods to minimize the mistakes that ESL learners in Spain make due to these grammatical nuances between the two languages. I have developed my project goal throughout the school year, with future aims to be implemented in all ESL classrooms in Spanish speaking countries worldwide.

Goals

As you navigate through the different pages on my website, you will learn a great depth about me, my objectives as a teacher, and both my personal and professional goals. I hope this research inspires other post-graduates to pursue a teaching role abroad as I have and to develop a passion for making a lasting impact in the education system that demands change.
