Do you want to enhance student engagement with your digital content? TCC faculty and staff have the opportunity to do just that with SoftChalk, an interactive content authoring software and learning object repository licensed by the college.
In February, a SoftChalk facilitator will conduct two training sessions at TCC. You can participate remotely or join us at the Metro Campus Main Academic Building, Room 2006, in the Online Learning Division. Cookies will be included if you attend on campus.
Here are the details for the training sessions:
Friday, Feb. 9th, 2024, 1 pm – 2 pm: A one-hour overview. This session will show you how to get started with SoftChalk, covering topics such as creating, managing, discovering, and sharing interactive learning materials. Register for the 2/9 Session
Friday, Feb. 23rd, 2024, 1 pm – 3 pm: A two-hour hands-on training. During this session, you will create content and connect it to the Blackboard Gradebook. Register for the 2/23 session
SoftChalk stands out not just for its ease of learning but also for its intuitive nature. The content generated through SoftChalk seamlessly integrates into both the Original and Ultra interfaces in Blackboard. Additionally, student scores can be configured to synchronize with the Blackboard Gradebook.
In the past, you had to install SoftChalk on your computer; now, you can now manage your content online without downloading any software.
We highly recommend attending both sessions, but recordings will be available for those who are unable to attend.
Before the second session, you will need to set up an account on SoftChalk. You can sign in to SoftChalk and register, using the TCC Activation Code:
