🧪 Role in the South Asian Nitrogen Hub (SANH)
As a technical lead in the South Asian Nitrogen Hub (SANH) project at CSIR–NPL, Sashank Choudhary played a crucial field role in building one of the region’s most extensive ammonia monitoring networks.
As part of the SANH project—an international collaboration led by the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology—Sashank contributed significantly to atmospheric nitrogen monitoring across India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
🔬 Key Technical Contributions
- Environmental Instrumentation:
Installed, calibrated, and maintained DELTA samplers and electronic data acquisition systems at over 17 monitoring sites across South Asia. - Circuit Design & Troubleshooting:
Performed electronics circuit testing and real-time troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted data capture and system uptime. - Data Analysis & Automation:
Used R and SQL to process air quality data; developed automated logging systems that improved operational efficiency and reduced errors. - Field Deployment & Team Training:
Led field logistics and trained junior engineers on calibration, instrumentation protocols, and safety procedures in remote deployments. - Networking & Communication Systems:
Supported telecommunication-based monitoring setups and configured field-to-lab network systems for continuous data transmission.
