Radio Traffic & Dispatching
The Administration Team has noticed that Members and Staff of the Grand Canyon State Roleplay Community have found numerous issues with Law Enforcement breaking departments pursuit policy, with that being said, This will be an attempt to imrove on these issues. This document will give all Members of Grand Canyon State Roleplay an insight of the issues we are having.
Staff and Law Enforcement administration have noticed an excess amount of units on a scene. This is an issue with units self attaching. With this being said. Department Supervisors and Communications are going to be working together to stop this issue. ANY person that finds someone showing up to scenes unannounced or self-attaching immediately to a call after it is reported is to report it to a Department supervisor or a Communications Chain of Command with proper and sufficient evidence (Video Recording, Witness etc..) any person that self attaches will be punished with Disciplinary Action, no excuses will be accepted unless otherwise stated.
*ANY and all Department Supervisors are required to enforce the RTO/RTE and Pursuit Policies, any supervisor found not doing so is subject to Disciplinary Action.*
Radio Traffic Etiquette
All examples below are examples of Improper uses of Radio. Anyone in violation is subject to Disciplinary Action regardless of rank.
VIOLATION EXAMPLES
“101 to 605”
Response:
“Mhm” “Yeah” “What’s up”
All responses are in violation, only permitted responses are, “Go ahead” “Go for 605” “Send your traffic for 605”.
Any person that transmits unnecessary Traffic, not needed traffic or having ‘Small-talk’ on the Radio are in violation of RTE, any Communications Member/Staff with their Disciplinary Action can deem any traffic in Violation as listed above, Any Staff Member+ can also Discipline any person who violates RTE. If any person is caught in violation Members are welcomed and HIGHLY encouraged to report it to a Communications Staff Member+ with evidence.
RADIO PERMISSIONS
All Communications Members/Reserves have permission to override another person while speaking, with that being said if you are not running Communications you are NOT permitted to use the talk override. Doing so is considered Abuse of Power and any person that does it will be subject to Disciplinary Action and even removal from the Communications Department.
RTO Guidelines
It is important for other Officers or Supervisors to know this at all times:
• If you are busy or available for calls.
• Where you are and what you’re doing. If they don’t know where you are, no one does, and no one will be able to get to you if needed.
• Status updates on incidents, how many suspects? Description? Call conditions?
• Identify yourself.
• Do not cut off or interrupt other units unless absolutely necessary.
• Communication over LEO channels should always be very clear and precise
