For all ranks: Advancement Policy for Sign-Offs
For Star, Life, and Eagle rank requirements:
Activity Policy: Developed by the scouts on the PLC, this defines what it means to be an active scout, for Star, Life, and Eagle rank requirements
To advance, scouts must also be in good standing, as defined by the following policies:
Star Rank begins the scout's journey into another level of rank advancement. Star Rank requires scouts to be active in their troop, show their scouts spirit, and earn 6 merit badges. Of the 6 merit badges, 4 them must be eagle-required. To complete this rank scouts must complete a Scoutmaster's Conference and a Board of Review. Click here for a full list of requirements.
Life rank continues the scout on honing leadership skills and more advanced skills. Different from the previous ranks, scouts must serve in a leadership position for this rank. They must also complete 6 hours of service, and prove their teaching skills. Of course, to earn Life scouts need to earn 5 merit badges, 3 of which must be eagle-required. Lastly, Scouts must participate in a Scoutmaster's Conference and a Board of Review. Click here for a full list of requirements.
Eagle is the final rank in a scout's journey and is a well-known and highly respected achievement. Colleges recognize it, as well as potential employers. Scouts have a saying; "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle." To earn this rank, you must earn 10 additional merit badges, including 5 eagle-required badges. The most notable requirement for eagle is the project they must plan and lead. The service project must involve significant planning, budgeting, cooperation with the organization, and must show leadership with others. Eagle scouts must also hold a leadership role in their troop, and prove their scout spirit, duty to god, and duty to themselves. Click here for a full list of requirements.
