Project Description: For my project, I built two benches on the Lakeside Trail at Camp Aya-Po in Somers, CT. One bench overlooks the lake while the other is placed next to a footbridge over a stream. These benches provide seating for hikers, people fishing, etc. The benches also provide a great view over the lake and over the stream. These are the only two benches on the trail so they are very beneficial.

Project Description: My project was a signboard next to the parking lot at Field Road Park in Somers, CT. It stands over 8 feet tall and about 7 feet wide. It has an A-frame roof that overhangs the front and back of the sign, and the back side of the sign is covered in shiplap. A majority of the materials, namely the ones near the ground are made of pressure-treated wood. The front of the sign is corkboard protected by plexiglass. I chose plexiglass because it was in a more populated area so I don't think it will be vandalized, and because the plexiglass cost significantly less than Lexan. The corkboard will be used to display a map of the park which can be used for directions around the park. The corkboard also has space for flyers to be put up that pertain to public events or information relevant to the park.

Project Description: The Bald Mountain Kiosk is an Eagle Project planned and constructed by Ryan Nero. This project was built for the Northern Connecticut Land Trust on the Bald Mountain Nature Preserve. The purpose of this kiosk is to allow the NCLT to post information such as trail maps, tick warnings, wildfire prevention, and other information. This project received considerable donations from both the Somers Rotary Club and the Somers Wetlands Conservation Commission. In total, the Eagle Project took 13 people to complete with a total of 113 service hours worked. Thank you to everyone who helped and contributed to this project.
