We encourage our Scouts to have fun with their experiences in Scouting, as they are only a Scout for a short period of their life until they are finally young, mature adults.

Leadership: For the past sixty years, Troop 658 has been honored to have exceptional leaders who desire to pass their knowledge on to their fellow Scouts. By working hands-on with our boys, the Scouts are given experience and learn essential life skills as a result of their participation and dedication in troop activities.

We enjoy being an active troop and performing several activities during the year such as the following:
Backpacking (Mt. San Jacinto, Crystal Cove, etc.)
Hiking (Grand Canyon, Sitton Peak, etc.)
Camping (Joshua Tree, Calico, Newport Dunes, Cabrillo, USS Iowa, Death Valley, summer camp etc.)
Other (La Jolla kayaking, etc.)
Biking (5, 10, 15, 25, 50, or even 100 miles)
Fun events (Yankee gift swap, pool parties, water balloon tosses, card and board games, etc.)
Pancake Breakfast (This year we cooked over 1000 pancakes in under 3 hours)
In addition to our outdoor activities, our Scouts decide on which summer camp they want to attend based on three options.
