Arianna Cabrera, M.D. Candidate, Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine
Arianna is a first-year medical student at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine (UCC SoM). She holds a bachelor's degree in Human-Focused Biology, with a specialization in human anatomy and physiology, evolution, human genetics, and developmental biology. Arianna was awarded the Honors Merit Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement during her undergraduate studies. Prior to joining us, she worked as a researcher at UCC SoM, where she gained experience in cell culture, stereotaxic surgery, and western blotting, and co-authored a review paper. Arianna has joined our lab through the Summer Medical Research Internship program to study non-coding RNA in blood development and leukemia. On days when she is not in clinical rotations, she coaches volleyball for kids aged 4 to 10. Arianna also enjoys cooking, snorkeling in her hometown in Puerto Rico, and listening to the coquís at night.
