Q - What do I do if I arrest somebody who is in a gang fit but they are not specifically listed on the warrant?
A - You may arrest any gang member that is affiliated in any way we have a warrant as suspects in a similar fit can be considered for processing of Gang Affiliation under Section 45, Serious Crime Act 2015. Due to the gang affiliation charge, you charge them with all of the charges the rest of the gang face. You then inform a TRIDENT Command member who updates the warrant.
Q - Who can host operations?
A - Two individuals are the maximum that can host operations. (One host and one co-host). The operation must be led by TRIDENT, CTSFO or CID. TRIDENT Drivers and TRIDENT Pilots cannot host or co-host operations.
Q - What callsigns may Gold Command and Special Constables have?
A - Special Constables may be CTSFO at the discretion of CTSFO Command following their procedures. Gold Command may have specifically chosen callsigns as long as they are professional. Additionally, any Special Constables and Gold Command must complete their Basic and Advanced IGD Trainings, as well as their Interrogation Trainings should they wish to attend operations etc. to ensure skills are retained for all despite a member perhaps not having experience with gangs previously due to their prior positions etc.
Q - What should I do if I am named by a gang member during an operation or interrogation
A - If you are identified by anybody whilst patrolling as TRIDENT, or during an operation. You must deny it at all costs. As TRIDENT officers, you are protected under Pace Code C Section 2.6-A from identifying yourself
Q - Do I have to fill out an operation template form every time I host an op?
A - Yes, if you are hosting/co-hosting an operation. You are required to fill out a form, which will then be shared with everyone attending the operation in TRIDENT announcements. It helps people understand the plan in more detail.
Q - As a TRIDENT Officer, can I become PPO trained?
A - PPO is a CID perk. You must be a CID Detective Sergeant to become PPO trained. Any CID Detective Inspector can conduct PPO Training.
Q - How does the Probationary Firearm Interrogators trial work?
A - As a PFI, you are placed on a two-week trial. Within these two weeks, you are required to host an operation. As well as complete your CID Ridealong and final exam.
