I am Ibn al-Athir, also known as Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Shaybānī. I was a renowned Arab historian and writer who lived during May 12, 1160 to 1233. I wrote the Al-Kamil fi al-Tarikh (“The Complete History”), which is a comprehensive history book that covers the history of the world from the creation Adam and Eve up to the year 1231 CE. One of the most noteworthy thing in the document was about the Mongol invasion of the Middle East in the thirteenth century.
I think that the Mongols are brutal and ruthless group of invaders who causes widespread destruction and mass annihilation in the lands they conquered. The Mongols are merciless, and they take pleasure in slaughtering innocent people.
The Mongols were especially violent and ruthless towards us Muslims. They viewed us Muslims as infidels and slaves. The Mongols would often force their captives to renounce Islam and convert to their own religion. The Mongols also showed little regard for the mosques and other religious sites, often using them as stables or burning them to ashes.
I acknowledge the Mongols military prowess and their tactical brilliance. The Mongols were skilled horsemen and archers who were capable of inflicting heavy casualties on their enemies. They also used terror tactics such as impaling their victims on stakes or throwing them into rivers.
In conclusion, my view on the Mongols is largely negative. They are a brutal and ruthless group of invaders who caused widespread destruction and mass annihilation in the lands they conquered. However, I acknowledge the Mongol's military prowess and their tactical brilliance as warriors.
