TREATMENT OUTCOME RESEARCH
Presently, there are two primary projects on evaluating intervention outcomes. The first project is a randomized clinical trial to prevent gambling disorder among 2- and 4-year college students at The University of Memphis, East Tennessee State University, and all 2-year colleges in Tennessee. The second project involves the creation of an open-access, meta-analytic research domain on treatments for gambling disorder with an international group of researchers from across the world. This research domain allows us to conduct systematic reviews and meta-analyses that evaluate the effectiveness of psychological treatment for gambling disorder in randomized clinical trials.
TREATMENT PROCESS RESEARCH
While the lab is currently focused on conducting treatment outcome research, we are actively building a database of deidentified client information from three outpatient treatment clinics for gambling disorder across Tennessee (www.thegamblingclinic.com). These clinics offer both telehealth and in-person treatment services at a reduced fee, and the clinics serve about 150 unique clients every year. Much of the treatment process research, to date, has focused on how treatment attendance is associated with substance use and gambling outcomes.
