This day was Alexis's and my first day exploring the city by ourselves! We explored several arrondissements and ended up walking through a beautiful garden. The garden was so quiet and peaceful which was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. My roommate, Alexis, took this picture and I think it beautifully captured my emotion at the moment. I was looking up at a huge old tree and was amazed! It made me wonder what the city looked like when this tree was planted. The busy streets that I traveled on this day were very different compared to the life of the city when the tree was planted. Over time life changes around us in circumstances and atmosphere but somehow we survive just like this beautiful old tree.
